Traveling to SK never be complete if you don’t visit ‘fake’ island named Namiseom island. Became famous as the main location for K-drama at early 2000s Winter Sonata, Namiseom island itself became one of prettiest places I’ve visited. To make it cuter, even it’s just only located at Chuncheon which around 90 minutes from Seoul, It feel like we visit another island country name Naminara Republic because all tourist traveled by passing an immigration gate and having entrance ticket as a visa, such a creative local tourism!
Namiseom island could be reach by ferry or if you’re enough brave, you could use zipwire. I choose ferry bcos it safer and free since its fee already included at entrance fee. The ferry journey isn’t too long and only around 10 minutes. After we landed, the island itself is very well prepared for tourist’s visit next year by already having lovely 2017 wooden sign. Only in quick glance, I feel like Namiseom island has a romantic and friendly vibe based from all those lovely notes from autumn-leaves paper, ‘apa kabar’ message and even the leaves rubbish also was made to be a love symbol.
I also spotted many memorabilia pictures from Kdrama Winter Sonata whereas Bae Yong Joon was still handsome oppa rather than an ahjussi back then. Some of Winter Sonata’s pics served as signs where the shooting location take place at Namiseom island which is consist of their first kiss’ location! The first kiss’ location of Winter Sonata also had mini snowman as its sign but sadly, it had some vandalism act which make white snowman full of stupid graffiti.
After all, the highlight of Namiseom island is its amazing autumn view! How could you’re not in love with those bright yellow gingko trees? And even the fall foliage isn’t perfectly complete, I already fell in love with Namiseom‘s autumn vibes. The yellow and red leaves give such a calm mood for myself and the sky is totally in bright blue which made everything became perfect.
